Orkut Opens Doors

Orkut is now open to all. So far entry to the social networking site was restricted. One needed an invitation from an existing member to join Orkut. With this obstacle being removed, the not-so-savvy net user will find it a lot easier to join the Orkut bandwagon. Also, it may open the floodgates to the spammers. However, the sign-up process seems to be insignificant as far as spam is concerned since we already see a lot of spam in Orkut.

Orkut happens to be the most popular social networking platform in India and is expanding its network at a fantastic rate. Orkut has no doubt eaten into much of the time we used to spend over instant messengers.
