The problem of spam comments

Like mailboxes get spam mail, blogs get spam comments. This is a menace. The spammeres seem to have no dearth of energy. Looks like they have some script in working. Till date there has been 21,280 spam comments on Niponwave, mostly blocked automatically by Akismet. The rest I had to remove manually. The subject of these spam comments are varied. Mostly pharmacy ads. I have seen the word Phentermine umpteen number of times in the spam comments. So it wasn’t a new word for me at all when I read the Sanjay Kedia phentermine scam in paper!
