Not Being Able To Write

The last post here was some 5 months old. Of late, I haven’t written much of value on Bong Buzz either. It’s time I start writing! I wrote to blogger extraordinaire PC aka Dr. Skeptic seeking some inspiration. PC writes,

I don’t believe there is anything called bloggers’ block. IMHO its usually laziness. Why not start writing about how you are not being able to write? :P

He is right. Laziness it is. But more importantly, the other reason why I am not being able to write is the fear of writing what is already known. The fear of sounding cliche. I don’t want to write about stuff that is already somewhere on the internet. I don’t want to share my opinions and insights on the current affairs and would rather keep them to myself - when it only takes one common sense to draw similar conclusions.

There are a lot of things on my mind for sure. I wanted to post about the media’s (biased) angle on the AMRI incident. I want to write about the politicization of health. But all that is common knowledge!

Start back again Nipon. Looking forward to your articles.

Just start writing! People want to know what you think. Its not that everything has been written already. Your perspective is YOUR perspective, it has got to be unique and personal. I think the main issue is that you haven’t written for so long, the inertia seems too much. So just stop thinking so much and start writing. Once you get into the flow, you will realize how cliche it is to not write because of writers’ block!

So start writing. At least one guy (loyal reader, albeit a little late) will appreciate that…

@Joe: Thanks man. Great to hear from you!

@PC: Once again thanks for all the encouragement. I will post something this weekend.

Hey Nipon, you know you you expressed exactly my feelings, after I proceed with 1 paragraph I start thinking, I’m writing shit…it’s known to all and no one’s gonna read and bla bla…
    but here you being a 3rd person I feel it’s not anything with me or my writing… it’s a general lack…maybe a block…
you know we should write whenever we feel to express, without thinking who’s thinking what….
because every person has an uniqueness, an idea which gives every topic a perspective… I feel, I believe….
I’m gonna start a new post right now in our blog, inspired by you, waiting for your next… !!

A open and shut case of Facebook having eaten up your time, energies, and focus. Don’t you feel more zombie like the more time you spent on that FB page?

That is one EVIL agenda. (flame me now)

    True that Amartya!

@Johnda: Point taken. But I hardly use FB these days. I share almost nothing there. Only fun stuff if I do. Comment on a handful of friends’ timelines.
