The developer of Adblock Plus, the Firefox extension that lets users block ads, has proposed a fairer way to block ads. The developer has proposed a new meta tag that will allow a site owner to use a pop up notification telling the users that there are no annoying ads on his site and leaving it upto their choice if they want to block the ads or not.
<meta name="advertising" content="ask" />
Internet ads often get a tad too intrusive, which is were Adblock Plus comes in. But the plugin doesn’t address the issue that websites need money to run and the money comes from advertisements. So, this is a welcome move.
