Unfortunately, students have no access to the closing ranks for admission to MBBS/BDS. In fact, the CSC-Medical has no site of its own. So let me give this much needed information without further ado. This information is based on data collected after 3rd counselling.

As per last year’s trends, you have chance of getting MBBS in 1st counselling. In 2nd counselling, you have a sure chance of getting MBBS.

It’s hard to predict but you might get in North Bengal Dental College if you are lucky.
The site wbjeeb.in will publish the counselling details. An advertisement will appear in 2 leading newspapers. Information is also available from Calcutta Medical College.
Ipsita, Take a look at the closing ranks for medical colleges for the year 2006 I have given here and you will get an idea.
As for engg. I don’t really know but guess you can get some stream in JU. In most of the private engineering colleges of Kolkata you will probably get any stream of your choice.

Hi, Yes of course I am a student of NBMC - it is written in my ‘about’ page. With this rank you can get in NBMC for sure. May be Bankura also, I am not sure.

I may not be correct as I am not fully aware of counselling trends in the very recent years. Ask your friends also, they might be able to tell you.
With your engg rank you will get any stream of your choice in any private engg college of Calcutta and probably civil in Shibpur.

ITS HARD TO TELL HOW MUCH SCORE IS SAFE ENOUGH TO GET A RANK IN ANY COMPETITIVE EXAM. BUT I THINK IF U CAN SCORE 120-130 , U WILL GET A RANK BELOW 700. ALWAYS REMEMBER, IT DOES’NT MATTER,HOW MUCH U ANSWER , BUT MORE IMPORTANT IS THAT , how much u correctly answer.

Rinto, do what your heart yearns for. You know best what you want to do. If you think going into a clinical line is what you wish to then go for dental. Both dentistry and engineering are cream career options. It’s upto you now.

The cut off varies from year to year. But the minimum marks to be obtained in all 3 is 50%.
Want to know about closing ranks of medical&dental colleges (pvt.also) after 2nd counselling of 2009.
