Yep its true…only Cellone portal is accessible thro prepaid cards.
This means that for prepaid connections, only portal access is provided. I have been following up this issue with 94220-24365 for months together, but no luck. Nobody there in BSNL customer/technical care is able to sort this issue…
Can anybody help? thanks in advance.

@Sandeep and Nimish - you have to activate the full internet access by sending an sms as mentioned above. If that doesn’t work ask the customer care to activate it.

Beware of the customer care though. The representatives are not always knowledgeable and chances are high that they will misguide you. As in my case, they straightaway told me that there is no such full internet access service!

My mobil no. is 9426314505 Pre-paid
I activated my gprs on Jan. 06, 2007 and start use from Jan. 12, 2007. ON jAN. 22, 2007 balance amount was Rs 1330/-, suddenly is becoms 1.83/- on Jan. 23, 2007.
I contact to bsnl customer support they told that Rs 1290/- deduct due to I use gprs and SMS in ten days and our system was not working.I use only five sms and not use gprs that too much amount deduct from my balance.I complain baroda bsnl on writting. I stop use of gprs from january 23, 2007.
On February 04, 2007 my balance amount was 880/- and on Feb. 05, 2007 again 500/- deduct from my balance amount, I use only one sms and no use of gprs, than who amount reduce.
It means bsnl person uses my account?
Pl. check and correct it, and refund excess deduct amount.
you can give me details because i will go to consumer cort if not satisfaction answer from U.

If you have selected cellone settings as default settings in your mobile you will only get cellone, to get all other sites you should save GPRS/WAP settings as the default settings (Check your handset settings)

why waste time? Go for airtel gprs. Its good and dedicated. And unlimited. Difèrent gprs rate plans are there around different circles. In main cities, u wil be able to get egprs too. Gprs speed depends on the network traffic and your location signal strength. Airtel now has a good coverage. Now you have to choose a plan that saves your pocket! So go on… Cheers.!.

I think the rate for BSNL GPRS is higher than others like Airtel… Coz Airtel takes only rental for the month. If we calculate…..

For Every 10 MB you will have to pay Rs.200.00..

Is it Rate is Higher than any other GPRS Service.

Dear sir,

I want to activate GPRS on my Nokia 6600. I had sent “Nokia 6600″ sms to 19000. After sending this sms I received three configuration messages displaying bellow detail:

1. Access Points: bsnl_west_wap and Browser Settings : bsnl_west_wap
2. Access Points: bsnl_west_gprs and Browser Settings : bsnl_west_gprs
3. Access Points: bsnl_west_mms and Browser Settings : bsnl_west_mms

And tell me that save these three messages. After saving it and when I am go for GPRS service, it will display error like “GPRS Not Available. Check network services.”

I had already made this kind of settings. Still I didn’t get the GPRS connectivity.

the cost of using bsnl gprs:-

if you have rs.49 scheme then first 5mb is free usage and then for every kb you pay 1paisa. in roaming mode it is 2paisa per kb.

if you have rs.199 scheme then you have free unlimited usage, i.e. no usage charges. also roaming has no charges.

i hav a bsnl postpaid and gprs is active…. but many times in the day i find that it connects but no website opens
i am using nokia6230i and hav pcsuite 7 so its the latest nokia suite.

maybe there is some method to ensure it always connects….the signal stength is good here.\\

If a person uses gprs(internet on pc) for 6 hours a day,the person will access atleast 36 MB/hour(average).so per day 6*36=216 MB(216000kb)… BSNL rate is 2 p/kb—then 216 MB
216000 *2(paisa)=432000 piasa that means..Rs.4320/-per day..BELEAVE IT NOT..then monthly 30*4320=Rs 1,29,600/- In letters- one lakh twenty nine thousand and six hundred rupees.Still if you have doubts,use the gprs and see final bill.

BSNL In siliguri has reduced Tariff of GPRS and also some other things. previously it used to be Rs 189/- for unlimited upload and download. also the connection used to be bit slow and not stable. now BSNL has introduced new servers in Siliguri and speed and connection are stable now. Speed is also increased by BSNL and connection is very stable. Also as a bonus, BSNL has reduced the tariff from Rs 189/- per month to Rs 152/- per month. The weekly charges are same though i.e. Rs. 51/-. Speed is also increased by BSNL. and for bonus, 3G is also launched in Siliguri and not Kolkata. From May,2009 There will be full coverage of 3G signal in every part of North Bengal. Siliguri Rocks…..

Dear Sir,
I have a BSNL prepaid connection.

I spent a long time to undertstand but failed to connect my SAMSUNG L-700 with my laptop as a modem.

However, my cell is configured properly as per BSNL msgs. And both GPRS and WAP are working on the mobile. The connection in Laptop and mobile can also be made either through the bluetooth or by USB cable.

I am located in Karnal, Haryana. As usual no body from bsnl picks up the phone to guide me.

How can I get internet on my laptop from my mobile having BSNL prepaid?

Plz help.

I am using Spice S-707 mobile,my No.is 9437633997 which is BSNL lifetime Ananta.Its maintenance is only Rs.225/- 1/2yearly duration.I contacted BSNL customer service Office,Bhubaneswar personally after recharging Rs.99/-per month to avail the facility of internet connection.Custermer Care Office assistant installed the settings in my mobile.Then contacted Spice handset Customer Office,Bomikhal,Bhubaneswar with my CPU,they also installed the settings.Now I am happy using BSNL internet connetion in Rs.99/-per month unlimited access and speed is 115.2Kbps.Thanks both the customer service.

I think, you are mentioning wrong bsnl gprs prepaid charges. As per my knowledge in AP, it is 10KB/5ps. data pulse rate 1unit is 10KB, so minimum is 5ps.

in AP, as per my observation, BSNL is only offering better rates for prepaid GPRS for GSM phones. please note the following listed.

1.bsnl………10KB/5ps.
2.airtel……..50KB/30ps.
3.reliance….10KB/10ps.
4.tatadocomo..1KB/1ps.
5.idea…….1KB/2ps.

in the above airtel offering day and monthly schemes which are better. but bsnl is not offering any such. for those who are using less may opt for bsnl. airtel and bsnl are having better coverage. tatadocomo and reliance are having obsolete coverage.idea is average. pulse unit wise charges bsnl is best.

Diya gaya hai use karta hu. I am setisfied with internet service, but
BSNL ki customer service bahut hi bad hai. aapke executive ko baat karne ki
tamej nahi hai is ke ilava woh kabhi bhi right information provied nahi karate hai.
jab do month pehle maine internet service activate karni the to 4 din mujhe settings hi nahi mili.
Aab bhi kabhi-kabhi net band ho jata hai, network bhi nahi aata. another telecom compines
customer se bahut aache se deal karti hai. will u do something about this?

ok for the settings of gprs u neeed to call customer care many times unless they take your call.they willsend gprs settings according to your handset model.

sms GPRS PRE to 53733

then after you receive reply SMS and activated GPRS sms mobile model to 58355 and you will receive settings for your handset..
then apply settings are switch off/on mobile and do surfing from mobile/pc.

call 1503 from BSNL landline for more mobile services/customer care.

I think Cellone GPRS is gud among other service providers.
I get 12-14 Kbps speed.

Plan249[Rs=249,Usg=Unlim,Val=30days]

While Idea has a plan which has 2GB download for 30 days for Rs.99
But we must hold a condition which idea says,maximum of 60MB restricted per day usage.

But Remember one thing BSNL Customercare is a realy waste.Most of the times we can hear advertisement only.They wll not attend calls.

i am using prepaid bsnl (punjab circle). I am able to surf on my mobile using nokia’s browser (nokia 3500c) but opera, yahoo and other applications are not able to connect to the internet. the error says “subscribe to packet data first.” can someone find a solution.

Just Found the solution.
Starting from the point where you have already downloaded and installed Opera Mini, but you are unable to load pages:

* Go into Settings.
* Go into Configuration.
* Go into Personal Configuration Settings.
* Now, press Add New (visible if you don’t have a previous Personal Setting created) or press the Options button. When you have pressed the Options button, choose Add new.
* When you have pressed Add New, you will get a new menu, which will give several options to choose from.
* Now, scroll down and choose the Access Point and press Select. (Please note that this option is not available on the Nokia 3220 model and maybe on some more models, you can instead use the Services option instead of the Access Point option on the Nokia 3220.) Do not choose the Web option, since this will not work with Opera mini.
* Now go into Access Point Settings.
* Go into Bearer Settings.
* Go into Packet Data Access Point.
* Now, enter you APN address corresponding to your provider. Then press OK.(’bsnlnet’ IN CASE OF BSNL PREPAID)
* Go back to the Personal Configurations Settings menu, where you now should be able to see an Access Point selected.
* Now press the Options button, and then choose to activate this Access Point.
* Now you should be able to start Opera Mini, and try to load a link on your phone.

What deference between the candidates who was PhD awarded before 11 July 2009 and other was after 11 July 2009. Suppose one is awarded PhD on 10 July 2009 and other is 12 July 2009 according to blind rule of UGC first is qualified for assistant professor and other second one is not qualified for same post. First you are differentiate people and people by cast and now your label of mental fall so bellow you are seeing the same degree are deference.
I though this is not the dreams of our freedom of fighters like Mahatama Gandhi and any other. I think theirs is great need to fight for re freedom from corrupt officers and leaders. This is not only the maters of us like UGC but every area of the our daily life are affected by the corrupt officers and leaders.

The students of PhD, are spent his peak times for his/ her carriers. This knows the makers of regulation for assistant professor because they are all the PhD holders before 11 July 2009 and they are not PhD according to UGC regulation 2009. I thinks the deference between the makers of UGC regulation and us are they are holders of such post, which they can destroyed our carrier and intent in research other hand we are only poor holders of PhD. I thinks this types of PhD man are real terrorisms of our country, who are pays a game for providing job to his/ her relative so they makes like this regulations. If they are really thinks about the our country then they see all the students like one sight but our planes makers and our leaders are all cupped and they makes plan in view of only some powers full man, which can provide them benefits.
The such PhD holders or makers of regulation for assistant professors now say the increase the limits retirement 60 to 65 but they are want now checks the PhD holders after 11 July 2009 or the students who are registered before 11 July 2009 and decrease the opportunities and self earns more and more money. Can such PhD holders or makers of regulation for assistant professors work as emeritus scientist, answer is always NO and Never. Others hands crowds of qualified are standings or waiting for job and want to do goods for country. The policy makers (pets of leaders) pay the roles of olds British rulers. Examples are in 6th pay commotions theirs a lots are mistakes, why makes this types of policies. So such works are they do who are not thinks about our country, they are thinks only about the benefits of self.
I want to say this is the mistake of students or university, who did not, follows the rules which are determined by UGC. This is the maters of UGC and universities, why punished to students. Can they come the opportunity for us, no and impossible.
But all the policy makers are not selfish and pet of leaders, likes SANT GADGE BABA AMRAVATI UNIVERSITY, VEER NARMAD SOUTH GUJARAT UNIVERSITY and MAHATMA GANDHI UNIVERSITY FOR MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR APPOINTMENT OF TEACHERS IN UNIVERSITY.
I want check the monopoly of UGC who are say / always do not fair with phd holders. Kindly provide me information about rite on oppose to continues opposing/ making policies to away the phd holders from higher education. The ugc are playing open danced with phd holders, play with the emotions of poor’s and with Indian human right of conman people.
On the policy making times the policy regulation makers are in the sense or in nonsense. Because any policy are not for common peoples.
I want to say to all the policies makers and respected and responsible ministers of every ministry improve first his labels thinking and do not work only for self.
