GPRS rates for prepaid customers of BSNL are
2 (two) paise per KB only and no other charge
for this service.
BSNL GPRS rates for prepaid subscribers are 2 (two)

Any type of website is not open in my cell phone except cellone galaxy
Yep its true…only Cellone portal is accessible thro prepaid cards.
This means that for prepaid connections, only portal access is provided. I have been following up this issue with 94220-24365 for months together, but no luck. Nobody there in BSNL customer/technical care is able to sort this issue…

@Sandeep and Nimish - you have to activate the full internet access by sending an sms as mentioned above. If that doesn’t work ask the customer care to activate it.
Beware of the customer care though. The representatives are not always knowledgeable and chances are high that they will misguide you. As in my case, they straightaway told me that there is no such full internet access service!
i hav been accessing internet through airtel which charges rs 15 per day, but net is very slow. hw is the speed in bsnl? also is the download free coz its free in airtel.give me the details pls. thanks

I activated my gprs on Jan. 06, 2007 and start use from Jan. 12, 2007. ON jAN. 22, 2007 balance amount was Rs 1330/-, suddenly is becoms 1.83/- on Jan. 23, 2007.
I contact to bsnl customer support they told that Rs 1290/- deduct due to I use gprs and SMS in ten days and our system was not working.I use only five sms and not use gprs that too much amount deduct from my balance.I complain baroda bsnl on writting. I stop use of gprs from january 23, 2007.
On February 04, 2007 my balance amount was 880/- and on Feb. 05, 2007 again 500/- deduct from my balance amount, I use only one sms and no use of gprs, than who amount reduce.
It means bsnl person uses my account?
Pl. check and correct it, and refund excess deduct amount.

you have got the settings as u say. But your GPRS connection has not been activated yet. To do that, you can give the customer care a call and talk tough!

why waste time? Go for airtel gprs. Its good and dedicated. And unlimited. Difèrent gprs rate plans are there around different circles. In main cities, u wil be able to get egprs too. Gprs speed depends on the network traffic and your location signal strength. Airtel now has a good coverage. Now you have to choose a plan that saves your pocket! So go on… Cheers.!.

I think the rate for BSNL GPRS is higher than others like Airtel… Coz Airtel takes only rental for the month. If we calculate…..
For Every 10 MB you will have to pay Rs.200.00..

I want to activate GPRS on my Nokia 6600. I had sent “Nokia 6600″ sms to 19000. After sending this sms I received three configuration messages displaying bellow detail:
1. Access Points: bsnl_west_wap and Browser Settings : bsnl_west_wap
2. Access Points: bsnl_west_gprs and Browser Settings : bsnl_west_gprs
3. Access Points: bsnl_west_mms and Browser Settings : bsnl_west_mms
And tell me that save these three messages. After saving it and when I am go for GPRS service, it will display error like “GPRS Not Available. Check network services.”
I had already made this kind of settings. Still I didn’t get the GPRS connectivity.
the cost of using bsnl gprs:-
if you have rs.49 scheme then first 5mb is free usage and then for every kb you pay 1paisa. in roaming mode it is 2paisa per kb.
if you have rs.199 scheme then you have free unlimited usage, i.e. no usage charges. also roaming has no charges.
