Sir,

I want to activate GPRS on my cell. I sent sms as per your instructions to 3733. Furhter, Iam not getting how to download the settings. Didn’t get any help from BSNL website and customer care service is pathetic.

When I enter the option to talk to costumer care associate, the computer generated response just tells to hold on and then goes on telling their new services which continues for as long as 20 minutes but still no one attends the call.

My mobile no are 0941082832 and 09410876809 and i have nokia N70 music . My connection is Excel Prepaid of North Region (Agra,Uttar Pradesh).
I had sent msg ” GPRSPRE ” to 3733 to activate gprs, i recieved msg from 3733 as ” Your request has been accepted, the confirmation ewill be sent in 48 hours ”
After 48 hrs, customer care asked me to send model no on 8355. i sent ” Nokia N70 ” on 8355. then i recieved all settings and saved in my cell, then i was unable to activate gprs. the error seen is ” Packet data: paclek data not available, check network services”. the customer care is telling that my gprs will be activated within 48 hours, but after 48 hrs, same comment is here. they called me 3-4 times, and they asked me to change access point, change network selection to manual, switch off etc, but problem is not solved, then they asked me to call again to customer care. pls help me, my email id is mohitagarwal687@gmail.com

i also had the same problem, but after trying for almost a day, it got rectified. in my case the memory in phone showed that 100% was unused. when this memory not enough was displayed every time i pressed to save the GPRS settings . finally i decided to use up some memory, took a lot of pictures and a video file, then by the end of the day things started to move forward. now everything is working just fine. i don’t know how the gprs settings got saved. may be you need to press 0 to save the settings or you need to get packet data or to change some memory settings. i don’t know for sure

I tried so many times to access the weblink for Rajasthan circle but everytime the browser displayed the message “Page can’t be displayed” but it works fine for Kolkata cirle, please send me the correct link or update the website with the exact link which can enable the user to log on to the reapective site and get the GPRS configuration settings done for Rajasthan Circle users. I’ve GPRS enabled nokia device with me but all i that need is correct link to download the correct GPRS configuration settings.

BSNL has came out with the option of GPRS over the prepaid connection. But difficutlites were faced by many to connect to the Internet. Even the settings that were downloaded from BSNL site failed the phone to connect to the Internet. The following is the actual working settings on a Nokia3650 phone so that it would connect through GPRS.
Steps to be followed to browse Internet over GPRS using a BSNL South India Prepaid Connection:
• Message “ACTGPRS” (SMS) to 3733.
• After sometime (may take up to 48 hrs) a message would be recieved saying that GPRS has been activated for the phone.
• Press the menu button of your phone; go to Tools -> Settings -> Connection -> Access Points.
• Click on Options. Select New Access Point -> Use Default Settings
• Give the following values:
- Connection Name -> BSNL GPRS
- Data Bearer -> GPRS
- Access Point Name -> bsnlsouth
- User Name ->
- Prompt Password -> No
- Password ->
- Authentication -> Normal
- Gateway IP Address -> 10.31.54.2
- Homepage -> http://bsnl.co.in/
- Connection Security -> Off
- Session Mode -> Permanent
• Press Back. A new access point is created now.
• Now using the default browser that came with the phone or with the custom browser installed later Internet could be accessed over the GPRS.
• If the default browser is used, open it and click on Options, go to settings and select the default access point as BSNL GPRS. Modify the remaining options if needed.
• Now this browser can be used to browse the Internet.

Using a phone with in built modem one can browse the Internet using their computer.
The following steps should be followed to use a computer and connect to the Internet using the BSNL GPRS connection on the phone. The following settings are for a Windows XP computer.
• Connect the bluetooth dongle to a USB port of the computer and install any drivers if required.
• Pair your phone and the PC over bluetooth. (For exact details of how to pair the PC and your phone, please refer to the user manual that came with the PC and the phone.)
• Once pairing is over the computer would recognize the phone as a modem over bluetooth connection also and will start the services required for it over a particular COM port.
• Now Open System Properties (Win Key + Pause/Break is the easiest way to do this). Click on Hardware tab and then on Device Manager button.
• This will open a window where all the hardware on your PC is listed. Click the ‘+’ to expand the Modems and select the “Standard Modem over Bluetooth link #x”
• Double click on it. The Properties window for this modem willopen. Click on Advanced tab. In the Extra Initialization Commands textbox fill – “AT+CGDCONT=1,”IP”,”bsnlsouth”” .Without this string the computer will not connect to the Internet, but it will throw a PPP Link error. Please note that the “bsnlsouth” mentioned above is the access point name in your GPRS connection settings of your phone. (or gprssouth.cellone.in)
• Click OK, close the Device Manager. * Go to Control Panel -> Network Connections. Click File -> New Connection. In the New Connection Wizard that comes up, follow these steps:
- Click Next
- Select Connect to the Internet and click Next.
- Select Set up my connection manually and click Next.
- Select Connect using a dial-up modem and click Next.
- Enter “BSNL GPRS” in the ISP Name text box and click Next.
- Enter “*99#” in the Phone Number text box and click Next.
- Chose the connection availability as per your discretion and click Next.
- Leave User name and password blank. Uncheck the check boxes if needed and click Next.
- Tick the check box to have a short cut on your desktop and click Finish.
• Switch on the bluetooth radio of the phone.
• Now double click on this connection’s icon and click on dial. It will dial and connect the computer to the internet!!!
• These procedures and settings help the BSNL subscriber to connect to the Internet over GPRS using a BSNL South India prepaid account. The above procedure works equally well for Post paid subscribers and for connection to PC/ laptop with USB cable.Specially useful for heavy users who have subscribed to BSNL post paid unlimited GPRS usage.

I am using Mobile Office from Airtel,it is cheap and unlimited download service,I tried more time to Bsnl Gprs,but always there not response,To We are using Bsnl services by the name only,not batter service from there,I also replied for the Broadband service,in Jaipur,and Bsnl provided that service within the six days,After delivery the Adsl Modem,no any person came to me for the installation of that modem,I tried to make more Telephone Calls to area service provider,but there no response,I send a written application to Bsnl office,for disconnecting of that service,after one month,I received a bill from bsnl,that is Rs.1000.00 extra for the service charges,and rent of adsl modem,then second bill Rs.600.00 Extra,it is the true story of the Bsnl Service.

When i change my location to 2 - 3 km away from my home the GPRS gets fine
Its just not working when i am at home. I get full tower at my home

I belive that there is some problem with my local tower may be

I called the customer care they said they have nothing to do and they dont know when the problem will get solved
I called Ranikuthi telephone exchange :033 2421 8143 Even they knows nothing about that.

My mobile no is 09436541941 and i have nokia N70 music . My connection is Cellone Postpaid of North East (Agartala Tripura).
I had sent msg ” GPRSPRE ” to 3733 to activate gprs, i recieved msg from 3733 as ” Your request has been accepted, customer care asked me to send model no on 8355. i sent ” Nokia N70 ” on 8355. then i recieved all settings and saved in my cell, then i was unable to activate gprs. the error seen is ” Packet data: paclek data not available, check network services”. the customer care is telling that my gprs will be activated within 48 hours, but after 48 hrs, same comment is here. they called me 3-4 times, and they asked me to change access point, change network selection to manual, switch off etc, but problem is not solved, then they asked me to call again to customer care. pls help me,

My cell model is Motorola L7. I’m using bsnl preapaid GPRS (wap west) I’ve installed gtalk but when going to connecting, problem occurs that your connection to the server is not made successfull, thats why I had also contact to the GSM operator, he sent settings again but same problem occurs again. Yahoo messsenger also not opened on my phone. & when going to send mail window says “data server is not available”. & I can only open my gmail account, Yahoo account I cannot open. Is it seem problem or phone problem?
What should I do? Please give me solution.

Sir i can access yahoo websites through wap.cellone.in but not directly as well as not any other websites.
if i write suppose www.google.com or others in address then immediatly answered on mobile that “server not access”.
sir what should i do because i have called many times to costomercare but they didn’t give any answer.

Prepaid:
Send a message “GPRSPRE” to “53733″
Reply: Your request is accepted, you will get the confirmation within 48 hrs.
then you will get a reply shortly.
Now type your phone model
Ex. Nokia N72 and send it to 58355
You will get a message: Welcome! your Nokia N72 Handset will be configured to access services. Please accept when prompted.
Now you will get six configuration settings.

i have send the keywords ‘GPRSPRE’ on 53733 several times but it always replies with msg ”There is a error in retrieving data. We regret for your inconvenience.” although i hav configured all the settings for GPRS manually.

I have BSNL prepaid connection on number 942806603. i am in Gujarat. I was using the same sim card on HTC touch and the GPRS was working fine. I switched to Nokia E71 but i cannot get GPRS configuration from BSNL for this handset.

I have however been able to get settings on the handset (E71) as given above. But could not get internet running. maybe i need some fine tuning.

I have BSNL prepaid sim no. (Mobile No.) +919407880547. I have received many time gprs setting from bsnl since 07-08-2011. Every time I have tried to save the setting. But not get successes .When I try to save the setting an error shows ” Verification failed setting will be discarded”

I had consulted bsnl many times for this problem but they are unable to solve my problem.

Hi,

i have Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100 mobile.
i want to activate GPRS and to use MMS in my phone.
i have sent SMS to bSNL as GPRSPRE or GPRS PRE to 53733
i got reply from BSNL as : Your GPRS facility will be activated shortly.
when i called up BSNL customer care they said they will send the settings to the mobile directly.
They said within 1 hour you will receive the settings but nearly 5 days over but Still i did not receive the sms.
when i checked with BSNL web site i.e.
THE SETTINGS PAGE:

the setting files for GPRS and MMS has not been updated by the BSNL.
So, BSNL KINDLY UPDATE THE SETTINGS FOR ALL THE MOBILE HANDSETS.
