No there is no such reservation. No plus points as well. However, as you might be already aware that medical candidates need to be resident of WB (for exact information on this refer the prospectus).

Because of reschedule of WBJEE examination none of the student can appear for WBJEE at Mumbai centre . There is a clash of Exam date between MHT CET and WBJEE . WBJEE authority did not think about it . Can you help us. My daughter wanted to appear for both the examination. In the new scenario she can only appear for MH CET.

West Bengal Board of Examination;
Subject: JEE dates and admit card

I wish to bring to your kind attention that due to the change in dates of WBJEE on 20 ,21May- hunreds , if not thousands, of students will face a serious dilema as this is clashing with MHCET conducted by Colleges in Maharastra.
I think Govt of West Bengal has not noticed this issue while deciding the dates for WBJEE. Otherwise I am sure the dates wold have been different.
Now my question is can this be avoided and WBJEE exam dates can be rescheduled ?
Furthermore Please advise when the admit cards will be dispatched for candidates outside west Bengal.
Please reply.

Hi Abhishek, last year students with ranks upto 70 (approximate figure) got electronics in Jadavpur University (JU) and those with ranks upto 120 (or something like that — I don’t remember the exact figure) got computer science. These are the last year figures. I don’t know how it is going to be like this time.
Shibpur (BESU) follows JU closely in terms of ranks.

I am in Hyderabad. On 17th May I am required to be present in Chennai. So I will have to start from Hyderabad on 15th evening. The admit card will be coming to Hyderabad on or after 16th of May. I have already made my reservations from chennai to Mumbai on 17the night so that I can reach one day early in MUmbai. Till now I am not knowing where the exam center will be in Mumbai. and How can I get my admit card atleast before 14th of May. The board decision to get sturdents their admit card from 16th to 19th of May is disastrous. Because lot of students will be coming from distant places to write their exams, and if the admit cards get delayed they will lose the opportunity to write the test for which we are preparing by heart.

Dear respected candidates and their concerned and anxious parents:

I have been paitently following all your concerns and agonies expressed in the form of varoius comments in this website regarding the non receipt of admit cards.

I spoke to one office representative of WBJEE office sometime during mid April and I was told that no need to worry as it is their responsibility and not ours.

I was advised to sleep well in the night( I wishh he could sleep under the same situation).

If I understand corectly WBJEE management is under the shadow of a party which is almost non existent ( it comes under the extinct category of political parties and ideologies) anywhere in the whole world and they are more concerned about their fate in the future rather than yours.
So let the the fever of election be over then perhaps they will wake up and will realise the agonies we are going through.

Hi Rajeev,

Ya it’s true that Jadavpur University and Bengal Engineering and Science University, Shibpur (BESU) are under being considered to be converted into IITs. You can go to this link for more on this.

As far as trends of previous year questions are concerned, WBJEE is way easier than IIT and also easier than AIEEE. That apart, as you must have noticed, the West Bengal Joint syllabus is a lot different from those of IIT and AIEEE. In fact, this decade-old syllabus should have been changed long ago and hopefully WBJEE syllabus will be made at par with All India standards from next year when the module system will also be phased out.

What do you mean by a good college? That is relative. If you are eyeing to get into the top ones — JU or Shibpur — try to rank (General cat.) within 500 to get a good stream.
