TOEFL has become just harder. The language-proficiency test has now added a speaking section to make sure that one does not get through just by cramming the textbook but can communicate well in English in real-life situations.
The Economic Times writes,
The new test focuses on how well students read, write and speak in combination. Interestingly, even the listening comprehension section has now been altered to recreate real-life college lectures.
The test is also now taken online, though students must go to a testing center to access the Web site. The test’s new name is TOEFL iBT, for Internet-based test. The price of the test - $140 - is not changing.
